Detoxing: Feel better Faster!

“You’ll feel worse before you feel better” is not a rule we have to accept.

When killing microbes (yeast, bacteria, parasites), toxins can spike. If elimination can’t keep up, symptoms flare.

But you can dramatically reduce die-off by pairing smart peptides with simple, safe detox supports.

Many sensitive kids (and adults) do well with this approach.

How to think about die-off

  • Two jobs happen in parallel:
    1. Minimize symptoms (calm the immune surge, tighten the gut barrier, steady the nervous system).
    2. Speed removal (binders, lymph, organs, hydration, bowels, sleep).
  • When both start together, relief comes sooner and you can keep the healing work without crashes.

Peptides: the new core tools

This section is to review some of the peptides that you will read about more below.

You can skip down to Part 1 if you already know about them.

NAD+: calms mast cells while supporting clean mitochondrial energy so neuro-immune reactivity is steadier and die-off or daily exposures are less triggering.

It doesn’t kill microbes, which is why it’s a gentle first move for sensitive systems.

• Larazotide Acetate: temporarily tightens gut tight junctions via zonulin modulation, keeping die-off in the gut for binders to catch.

  • Reduces food reactions and “detox makes me feel sick” patterns. Often used just before meals.

• Adrenal bioregulator peptide (Adrenact): Steadies stress response so detox doesn’t tip a child (or parent) into overwhelm / meltdowns.

  • Helpful when emotions are high, sleep is fragile, or fatigue hits hard during killing phases.

• Liver + Kidney bioregulator peptides: gentle organ support that keeps “trash pickup” moving without heavy herbal load.

  • Even sensitive systems tolerate these and notice fewer healing regressions.

Optional, by need:

  • Selank: fast calm for anxiety, neural pain flares, and fight-or-flight (daytime use; non-sedating).
  • DSIP: deep sleep support on detox nights; helps people wake more restored.
  • KPV is anti-inflammatory and mast‑cell stabilizing – but is antimicrobial/antifungal and can create die-off in initial stages.
    • If you’re past it’s die off stage and treating die off from another treatment, it is very helpful

Making them work

  • Start low, split doses, and adjust slowly.
  • Bioregulators can start together; they’re designed to be synergistic.
  • You can pulse “killing” (e.g., 5 days on, 2 off or even fewer on) so elimination keeps up.
  • All dosing is approximate; listen to the body and pivot as needed.

Part 1: Strategies to minimize die-off symptoms

Choose one or more based on symptoms / budget:

  1. Calm cytokines and mast cells
  • Lead with NAD+ to steady mast cells and improve cellular energy/redox so reactions to die-off and exposures are less intense.
  • Non-peptide tools (replaced by NAD+):
    • EGCG + mung bean, resveratrol, NAC (not if sulfur sensitive), skullcap, kudzu, motherwort, greater celandine, vitamin C and E.
  1. Tighten the gut gate
  • Larazotide Acetate – works within minutes and lasts hours, so use it before meals or known die-off windows to keep reactions more localized and bindable.
    • When paired with killing agents like KPV, die-off feels much less systemic.
  1. Manage acidity
  • “Herx Water”: 1/4 tsp. baking soda, optional ginger and fennel in a little water, follow with plain 8+ oz water, away from meals and medicines. This can quickly buffer acidity from die-off.
  • If alkalizing or drinking alkaline (high pH water) makes symptoms (fatigue, brain fog) worse, consider ammonia support (below) and pause the baking soda until ammonia is controlled.
  1. Address ammonia (possible source of brain fog and “loopy” feelings)
  • Why it matters: dead microbes can release ammonia; it’s alkaline, neurotoxic and can complicate acid management.
  • Some kids will look giggly or spacey and feel “toxic in the head,” adults often feel tired and have brain fog.
  • Helpful tools:
    • Binders: Organic activated charcoal; Pectasol if charcoal isn’t tolerated. Take 1-2 hours away from food / other supplements.
    • Citrulline & Yucca supplements to mop extra ammonia.
    • Consider (up to 1/4 cap) Pteridin-4 (Bh4) – supports the urea cycle which converts toxic ammonia into urea for safe excretion. (Discount Code: Healthy5)
    • Temporarily reduce foods heavy in arginine/protein, sulfur, and glutamate until symptoms recede.
  1. Support adrenals
  • Best-in-class: Adrenal bioregulator peptide (Adrenact). People notice steadier mood, resilience, and better capacity to handle detox.
  • Older, non-peptide supports (now optional): adrenal cortex extract (Thorne Brand, AM only), ashwagandha
  • Vitamin B5 can also help
  1. Nervous system calming and sleep
  • Selank: for “wired and tired,” ruminations, anxiety, neural pain flares, and that “can’t switch off” feeling. Calms without sedation.
  • DSIP: before bed when detox stirs sleep; helps deeper sleep so overnight repair and clearance happen.
  1. Pulse dosing antimicrobials
  • Helpful when symptoms outpace elimination. Common patterns are 5 on / 2 off or 3 on / 1 off. Experiment to find your best.
  • Keep NAD+ and Larazotide steady, emphasize binders and hydration on “off” days.

Part 2: Strategies to speed removal of toxins

Select one or more based on needs / budget:

  1. Binders (the cornerstone)
  • Organic Activated Charcoal: binds broadly and helps scrub bile. Most notice this makes a big difference on herx days.
  • Pectasol (citrus pectin): gentler; useful if charcoal isn’t preferred.
  • Timing: 1 hour before or 2 hours after food, supplements, and medicines. If constipation appears, increase water and add gentle magnesium. Used infrequently it rarely causes issues.
  1. Detox organ supports
  • Bioregulator peptides for liver and kidney. Clean, gentle, and effective for sensitive systems.
  • Optional non-peptide supports (replaced by bioregulators):
    • Burber-Pinella (brain fog, lymph, liver, kidneys).
    • Dandelion root, milk thistle, burdock root.
    • NAC (not if sulfur sensitive) and liposomal glutathione.
    • Molybdenum, for yeast die-off and sulfite sensitivity.
  • Note on plant ‘chelators’: Families here generally skip chlorella, cilantro, parsley, and zeolites due to contaminant concerns and weak binding that may redistribute metals.
  1. Lymphatic movement (waste highway)
  • Movement: walks, yoga, or a rebounder bounce—enough to move lymph without exhausting the body.
  • Gentle lymph drainage massage: ultra-light pressure (just enough to slide a coin). Heavy pressure collapses lymph flow. Some like dry brushing,

4. Detox baths and foot baths

  • “Black detox” foot bath: warm water with activated charcoal, ginger, Epsom salt, and baking soda. Skip oils with charcoal or it will cling to the skin. Use filtered water when possible.
  1. Hydration and bowels
  • Essential. Increase clean water intake; many prefer higher pH water and tolerate it well even with meals.
  • Keep stools regular to avoid reabsorption. If things slow down, pause and fix constipation first – binders and toxins must leave daily.
  1. Rest and deep sleep
  • Healing accelerates at night. Protect sleep windows;  consider DSIP if nights are choppy and Selank if evening anxiety spikes. Parents often notice faster “bounce back” with a single good night.

What a schedule can look like

On higher die-off days

  • Morning
    • Hydrate!
    • Larazotide before breakfast to keep the gut gate closed.
    • NAD+ in a small dose to calm cytokines and reduce load.
    • Adrenal bioregulator for steadiness and capacity.
  • Late morning
    • Herx Water if acids spike (baking soda + ginger + fennel); follow with plain water.
    • Movement / lymph assistance
  • Lunch
    • Keep food simple; Larazotide before meal
  • Mid-afternoon
    • Possible Binder window: organic activated charcoal away from meals and supplements.
    • Hydration and movement.
  • Evening
    • Liver + kidney bioregulator peptides.
    • Foot bath or warm shower
    • If wired: Selank. If sleep is shallow: DSIP an hour before bed.

Overnight

  • If awake in the night, use binder here instead

On quieter days (maintenance)

  • Keep NAD+ and Larazotide paired at smaller amounts
  • Continue organ bioregulators and hydration.
  • Use Selank/DSIP if needed.

Food, enzymes, and acids

  • Digestive enzymes with meals can reduce putrefactive by-products and soothe the gut.
    • Some families prefer pancreatic enzymes; avoiding fungal-derived enzyme blends.
  • High-pH water is fine for many even with meals; bodies will signal if it’s not a fit.
  • If alkalizing increases discomfort, assume ammonia is in play; pause baking soda, prioritize binders, and use citrulline + yucca with protein meals.

Probiotics in sensitive systems

  • Not every gut wants daily probiotics, especially with histamine issues or autoimmune patterns.
    • Some strains are immune stimulating. We rarely recommend probiotics and it’s reasonable to pause them while focusing on peptides, gut barrier, and clean food. Revisit later if desired.

When to pause and when to pivot

  • If symptoms climb:
    • Pause killing agents.
    • Keep NAD.+ and Larazotide.
    • Increase binder frequency (staying clear of meals/meds), hydration, lymph work, and sleep supports.
    • Resume when the body settles

Kid-friendly and sensitive-system tips

  • Start with NAD+, add one helper (Larazotide). Layer others only if needed.
  • Hydration first, bowels second. Everything else builds on those two.

What families are retiring – and why

  • Alka-Seltzer Gold: replaced with baking soda + ginger + fennel “Herx water” due to unnecessary additives.
  • Heavy herbal stacks: often replaced by liver/kidney/adrenal bioregulators to keep things simple and gentler.
  • Over-doing detox: replaced by a slow-and-steady peptide core with routine binder windows.

Why this approach works

  • NAD+ lowers the “danger siren” by improving how cells make energy and by calming mast cells so reactions and herx are less likely to spiral.
  • Larazotide keeps die-off inside the gut so binders can escort it out rather than letting it leak into circulation.
  • Bioregulator peptides quietly support the organs that do the clearing, without adding noise to the system.
  • Selank and DSIP keep the nervous system and sleep steady so recovery can complete overnight.
  • Basics – binders, hydration, bowels, and sleep – do the heavy lifting day after day.
